End of Builders Clean

Your home is ready for the next step-furnishing, but as well the builders have done their job, always after construction or renovation there is a large amount of dust and debris. These contaminants are heavy and difficult to clean without the proper equipment and materials, and this can lead to delays accommodation. Also collecting dust and dirt could cause serious health problems for your family. So you have to be very  thoughtful when you clean after builders.

There are a few steps which will help you to clean after builders and make your home nice and tidy, just the way you like it. The first step being Remove all debris and packaging from all rooms around the home, not forgetting to remove stickers from all door knobs, light fittings and plug sockets, then dust down all walls from top to bottom with a feather duster.

 

End Of Builders Bathroom Clean

Equipment

  • 10 micro fibre cloths
  • Branded bathroom spray cleaner i.e Astonish or Mr Muscle
  • Window and glass spray cleaner
  • Harpic toilet cleaner
  • Viakal Limescale Remover
  • Scrubbing Brush
  • Feather Duster
  • Soft Sponge
  • Branded floor cleaner
  • Washing up bowl
  • Washing liquid
  • Step Ladders
  • Semi sharp blade
  • White spirit
  • Toothbrush
  • Paper Towels
  • Steam Cleaner with Squeegee attachment
  • Window Scraper
  • Multi surface cleaner
  • Toilet Brush
  • Vacuum
  • Mop & Bucket

Duration

Apprx 1.5 hours

  • Using Step Ladders, clean all high up extractor fans with multi surface cleaner. Making sure all dust is removed.
  • Thoroughly clean the bath and bath panels using bathroom cleaner and a wet cloth. Making sure all chrome taps, plugholes etc are perfectly buffed and shiny with a dry cloth. whilst doing this make sure all drywall filler, paint, mastic, grout etc is removed – this can be done by using a semi sharp blade and white spirit
  • Thoroughly clean the shower cubicle by using a wet cloth and bathroom cleaner. You may need your scrubbing brush for this to ensure all crevices in the tiled areas are reached, again not forgetting to remove any drywall filler, paint, mastic and grout.
  • Now clean the shower screen. If lime scale is apparent, simply spray viakal limescale remover , lava with water and a sponge then rinse.
  • Remove excess water on the screen with a window scraper and finish up by spraying glass cleaner. Buff dry with a micro fibre cloth to ensure ‘smear free’ glass
  • Thoroughly clean all toilets with bathroom cleaner, making sure to clean the outside of the walls and the base of the toilet as this is where dust and dirt may collect.
  • Place toilet cleaner (Harpic) around the rim of the toilet on the inside. Leave for a few minutes, scrub with a toilet brush and rinse away.
  • Thoroughly clean the sink with bathroom cleaner and a wet cloth. Making sure all chrome taps, plugholes etc are perfectly buffed and shiny with a dry cloth. Not forgetting to clean the outside parts of the sink.
  • clean all vanity tops where basins have been installed.
  • Spot check the flooring making sure there isn’t any dried paint or grout. If there are any visible dried paint or grout marks simply chip off gently with a semi sharp blade. Be careful not to scratch the flooring whilst doing so!
  • Now spot check the windows for any paint marks, if there are any visible marks these can easily be removed by using white spirit and a clean microfibre cloth.
  • Spray windows with glass cleaner and clean in circular motions using a microfibre cloth, checking for smears along the way.
  • Using a multi surface cleaner Thoroughly clean the interior of all windows and frames.
  • Clean/wipe walls/switch plates/toilet roll holder/mixers/vents/lights
  • Polish all vanity units including mirrors ensuring no finger marks are visible.
  • Clean, and buff all towel rails.
  • Using a washing up bowl of warm water, washing liquid and a soft sponge, wash down all woodwork and doors including skirting boards.
  • Vacuum the bathroom floor and any airing cupboards making sure reach all crevices.
  • Finally mop the bathroom floor. This may need to be moped twice to ensure all end of builders dust and dirt is fully lifted.

 

End Of Builders Bedroom and Dressing Room Clean

Equipment

  • 5 micro fibre cloths
  • Window and glass spray cleaner
  • Multi surface cleaner
  • Feather Duster
  • Soft Sponge
  • Step Ladders
  • Branded floor cleaner
  • Vacuum
  • Mop & Bucket
  • Washing Up bowl with warm water

Duration

Apprx 1 hour

  • Start by cleaning the windows using a branded glass cleaner and a micro fibre cloth, making sure any paint/plaster is removed.
  • Using a multi surface cleaner, clean all light switches and plug sockets
  • With a multi surface cleaner and damp cloth, wash down all wardrobes, dressing tables and any other bedroom furniture inside and out (including drawers) making sure not to leave furniture smeary
  • Spot check all walls for dirt marks, if marks are apparent use a damp sponge and washing liquid to remove these, this process can also be used to wash down any skirting boards and also doors
  • For all hard floor areas, chip off any dried paint/grout by using a semi sharp blade.
  • Vacuum all flooring making sure to use the vacuum attachments to get into the harder to reach areas.
  • Finally, if hard flooring, mop the floor making sure all excess builders dust is fully lifted.

 

End Of Builders Kitchen Clean

Equipment

  • 10 micro fibre cloths
  • Branded Kitchen Cleaner
  • Window and glass spray cleaner
  • Feather Duster
  • Soft Sponge
  • Washing up bowl
  • Washing liquid
  • Step Ladders
  • Branded floor cleaner
  • Semi sharp blade
  • White spirit
  • Oven cleaner
  • Vacuum
  • Mop & Bucket

Duration

Apprx 1 hour

  • Clean all windows making sure there are no visable streaks.
  • With kitchen cleaner and a wet cloth, wipe down all kitchen cupboard fronts, including drawers inside, not forgetting all shelving,cabinets and other joinery items
  • clean the exterior and interior of all kitchen appliances (oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and hob)
  • Clean the kitchen sink using viakal. Making sure to clean away all marks from in and around the plughole.
  • Dry and buff to leave streak free and shiny
  • Wipe down all kitchen worktops using kitchen cleaner, including all splash back areas.
  • Clean all plumbing fixtures and fittings
  • Clean all plug sockets and light switches
  • Wash down all walls, skirting boards and doors by using a soft sponge and washing up liquid.
  • Check all floor space for any splashes of paint and or grout, remove if apparent.
  • Vacuum the kitchen, again using the vacuum attachment if needed to reach into all corners.
  • Finally, mop the kitchen floor removing all dust.

 

End Of Builders Living Room Clean

Equipment

  • 6 micro fibre cloths
  • Branded multi purpose Cleaner
  • Window and glass spray cleaner
  • Feather Duster
  • Soft Sponge
  • Washing up bowl
  • Washing liquid
  • Step Ladders
  • Semi sharp blade
  • White spirit
  • Branded floor cleaner
  • Vacuum
  • Mop & Bucket

Duration

1.5 hours

  • Spray all windows with glass cleaner and clean. Again ensure to remove any paint marks
  • With multi surface cleaner and a wet cloth, clean down any furniture that may be in the room. This includes cleaning the insides of furniture-drawers & shelving etc
  • Using washing up liquid and a soft sponge, wash down all walls to remove any visible dirt.
  • Repeat the above process when cleaning all wood work and doors.
  • Clean all ligh tswitches and plug sockets
  • Check all flooring  for stubborn builders marks ie paint, gently use a semi sharp blade to remove these.
  • Vacuum the floor
  • If hard flooring, mop until clean and all dirt marks have been fully removed.

 

End Of Builders Hall Stairs and Landing Clean

Equipment

  • 3 micro fibre cloths
  • Branded multi purpose Cleaner

  • Branded floor cleaner
  • Step ladders
  • Vacuum
  • Mop & Bucket

Duration

30 minutes

  • Start by cleaning all windows with glass cleaner, remembering to remove all paint or grout if needed
  • With multi surface cleaner and a moist cloth, wipe down all handrails, banisters and spindles.
  • Spot check all walls for dirt marks, wash these marks away if apparent by using washing up liquid and a wet sponge.
  • Wash down all doors and skirting boards
  • Clean all light switches and plug sockets
  • Vacuum, including in all corners, crevices and airing cupboards.
  • Finally, if hard flooring, mop the floor.
